COMMUNITY FINANCING PROJECT - To purchase the JED land and house in an effort to provide stable ground for long term organizing.
- To create a revolving loan fund for JED residents to build personal and collective structures necessary for the health and functionality of the collective.
- To provide the financial base for organizational development
PROJECTS/SKILLS - To repair the current JED house for its use as an educational retreat center; including electrical repairs, dismantling of problematic areas, new windows, bathroom/shower repairs, wood shed repairs, and an addition. ($25,000)
- Building skills to assist with additional housing for collective members
- Assistance building a new animal barn and collctive workshop area ($20,000)
- Assistance with renovating the old barn into a livable collective space that can replace the JED house once the center is created ($50,000 projected renovation cost)
- Excavation & foundation work for a root cellar ($10,000 cost)
- Accounting assistance to do annual self-audit & book balancing
- Grassroots fundraising help
